Q. Who was your
favorite player as a kid?
A. I had a lot
of them. I liked McGuire, Kurt Gibson, Mike Bordick, and Ricky Henderson.
Q. How did being a
Freshman All-American in college help jumpstart your career?
A. I don’t
think it really impacted anything; college just gave me more experience.
Q. Do you play fantasy
sports?
A. Yes, I play
fantasy football when my buddies invite me.
Q. What is your
favorite baseball movie?
Major League.
Q. How does it feel to
be in the middle of the pennant race during your first year as a Major Leaguer?
A. It's hard
to describe how it feels because it's all I know. This is what I am a part of
right now, and it is the only thing that I focus on.
Q. What went through
your mind when you realized that you were drafted by the Yankees?
A. When I was
drafted by the Yankees, it was really exciting. One thing I've learned in my
life is that you can't get too excited for things because sometimes
overexcitement leads to let downs. You take each moment by itself, focus on it,
enjoy the moment and keep looking forward. It is a good way to keep me focused
and driven.
Q. What has been the
best moment of your career so far?
A. I don’t
ever look in the past, so I haven’t ever asked myself that question.
Q. Who has been the
toughest pitcher you have faced so far?
A. I haven’t
faced any pitcher who has been tough for me.
Q. What is your
favorite ice cream flavor?
A. Coffee
